Metaprism - An Interview With.

So METAPRISM have quite literally just got back from touring Europe with both Iced Earth & Freedom Call in time to release their brand new album 'Catalyst to Awakening'....and we're privileged they found the time to answer some questions from us too!

How amazing an experience was the tour with Iced Earth & Freedom Call? The whole tour was really great. All the band members and crew were all friendly and we all got on well, so it was just a really good atmosphere for the whole thing which always helps. Playing in front of bigger crowds consistently and getting to speak to a lot of them after the shows at the merch stand was also really good fun. Its currently the longest tour we have done especially of this size so its definitely one to remember.

As a band what do you think you learnt from touring that long with such amazing bands? Yeah i think we learnt a lot over the couple weeks. It was great to see how they work and how well organised things are. Very much a well oiled machine which means overall less stress, better shows. The level of consistency in sound and performance each night was also something to take real note of amongst many other things.

Only you guys could deal with the come down of the tour ending by releasing the new album! How excited are you to release it? Its pretty exciting as we have had it all finished for a few months now. We have had the video out for 'Unleash the Fire' which seems to have been well received so far and we have played a couple of tracks live already, so so far so good. Hopefully this time around we can reach a lot more fans with this new album as we are very proud of it and I'd like to think it would appeal to a fair few metalheads of multiple subgenres.

(Random question from my son who thankfully has met the band so hopefully not too weird a question....) Which of the band listens to the least metal & what is their music of choice? I'm not sure who of us listens to the least metal actually. I think we all listen to other genres. Does rock count? I listen to a lot of 70s/80s rock. I think Joey is in to some really old Rock'n'Roll stuff and some country music. Theresa likes a lot of Motown stuff. Basically we all listen to other genres as well as metal of course...so I guess the answer would be all of us! haha

What else have you got planned for album launch & rest of 2018? Well we are hoping to release some more videos in the near future as well as some new merch. Show wise there are a few tours we are looking at and some festivals, but i can't give much away on any of that right now, so keep your eyes peeled on our social media and website 📷

It's pay weekend for most - we can't think of many better ways to support our scene than with these incredible musicians & wonderfully humble people (we already have!). You know what you need to do - #GetInvovled
